Storytellers Publishing, an imprint of Journey Institute Press, today announced it has acquired the United States and Canadian English rights to Writing for Delta by Helen Thorpe. In Writing for Delta, Thorpe shares the story of how she forged a career as a writer and describes the transformation of the media profession that she witnessed during the forty years she spent working as a journalist and an author of nonfiction books. Helen Thorpe began her journalism career at The New York Observer, then became part of a team of contributors to the “Talk of the Town” section at The New Yorker magazine, and later she joined the writing staff of Texas Monthly. She has also written for many other publications, including The New York Times Magazine, Slate, Westword, and 5280. Thorpe currently teaches narrative nonfiction writing at Lighthouse Writers Workshop and serves as a visiting professor at Regis University in the Mile High MFA program. She has previously been a visiting professor in the journalism programs at Colorado College and Princeton University.
